Derryck Roque
Derryck’s approach to counseling is meeting clients where they are at and empowering them with tools to help manage the struggles of life. He enjoys learning clients’ narratives and aiding them in writing the next chapter of their lives. Derryck utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as his main framework while incorporating Mindfulness techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotion-focused, Narrative, and Person-centered theories. He guides his clients by incorporating his clients’ interests into different concepts. Derryck specializes in working with self-esteem, depression, anxiety, attention difficulties, life transitions, relational difficulties, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Derryck has training with UF Health Psychology to use Exposure and Relapse Prevention (ERP) in working with OCD.
Outside of counseling, Derryck enjoys playing video games, watching anime, and reading.
