Kari Brown

Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (IMH28179)

Kari Brown

Kari earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Saint Leo University and spent several years working in a variety of educational settings across Hernando and Orange counties, as well as teaching English virtually to children overseas. Her passion for supporting others eventually led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida.

While at UCF, Kari gained experience working with adult clients navigating anxiety, depression, work related stress, grief and loss, adjustment concerns, maternal mental health, and parenting concerns. During her counseling internship, she supported healthcare workers and their families and is passionate about supporting fellow educators still in the field.

Kari approaches counseling from a person-centered perspective, bringing curiosity and respect for each individual’s unique journey. This foundation allows her to build connection and create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their feelings and feel truly heard. From there she uses an integrative approach tailored to each client’s needs, drawing from modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and somatic exercises to help clients increase self-awareness, develop coping skills, and work toward meaningful change.

Outside of the office, Kari enjoys spending time in nature, reading, watching shows of all types and catching up with family and friends.
