Dr. Jeremiah Simmons

Jeremiah’s approach to counseling is restorative and integrative, employing a relational model in which he addresses the needs of each client uniquely.  He is well oriented with many therapeutic methodologies, including Rogerian, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, Object Relations and Cognitive-Behavioral therapy.

Jeremiah enjoys working with a broad range of patients and his work as a therapist includes counseling with adults, couples, adolescents and families as well as clinical supervision for mental health counselors.  His areas of focus include Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment Issues, Couples and Marital Counseling, Identity Issues and Addictions.

Jeremiah was raised and educated in the Southeast and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Tennessee. He holds a PhD, Master of Arts in Counseling, Master of Divinity, and is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor with the state of Florida.

When he is not counseling his pastimes and pleasures include good movies, interesting books, playing tennis, spending unhurried time with friends and good meals where he finds room for seconds and saves room for dessert.  He and his lovely wife, Vita, and two exuberant children reside in Maitland, Florida.
