So, you’ve reached out to us and have your first appointment scheduled. Likely, you’ve completed some paperwork and shared your insurance and billing details helping us know a little bit more about you. If any of that sounds unfamiliar, please give us a call at (407) 865-0495 and we will help answer any questions you may have.
Now what?
In your previous communications with us, you’ll have been given the address of one of our buildings. We have three locations: Maitland, Longwood, and Sanford. Parking is usually somewhat self-explanatory, but if you feel unsure, please visit our various location pages. Towards the middle of each page, you’ll find parking maps which have our buildings highlighted in blue and associated parking areas marked with a large “P.”
If it’s your first time in therapy, know that we’re glad you’re here. Though it isn’t absolutely necessary, it can be nice to give yourself a few extra minutes and arrive a little early on your first visit to help you settle in before your appointment.

Once you’ve arrived, please come inside and check in. You’ll see a prominently displayed sign in the lobby, right as you enter, requesting that you scan a QR code with your phone’s camera app and follow some instructions to help let us know you are here. After checking in, please have a seat, your therapist will be with you shortly. Most appointments start on the hour, i.e. 11am or 2pm, etc. In the meantime, there are signs posted in our waiting rooms with information to help you connect to our guest wifi network should you wish to do so. We appreciate your patience as you wait. Please feel free to grab some candy or read a magazine during this time. There is water in all our waiting areas and restrooms in every office. |

Next, your therapist will come to greet you and walk you back to their office. Our offices are all a little different, but relatively similar in comfort. You can see pictures of our offices on our location pages. Upon entering a treatment room, please grab a seat and make yourself comfortable. Your therapist will close the door for privacy and you’ll have a chance to talk. Sessions are typically fifty minutes to an hour. On your first visit, your therapist will take a moment to go over your privacy rights as a patient and answer any preliminary questions you may have. From this point, all that’s left to do is talk.
Our counselors are trained to help you explore your story more deeply than you might otherwise do on your own. At Simmons Counseling Services, we believe our motto. It’s “relationships that heal."
